Current Work
Currently we are holding school in a rented building with
107 students. (2009) our goal is to build a school sufficient for up to 400 children and to provide construction of a local
well for the school and community.
We have already purchased approximatelly 2
acres of land on which to build our school. As funds become available we will enroll additional students and proceed with
our building plans.
Long- Term Goal
To start additional
schools in other rural locations of Haiti and provide other children the opportunity of an education.
Rural
Schools Needed
Public schools in Haiti are very limited and mostly concentrated in the capital city of Port-Au-Prince,
the capital city, and some of the larger cities of Haiti. Haiti's government has limited resources to deliver even
the most basic of sevices. Foreign aid has been and will continue to be crucial for Haitis recovery. Many non-profit
organizations are also active in helping to provide much needed services in Haiti especially to the rural poor. Support
for education of the people of Haiti remains a much needed priority fr the development of the country.
We
need your Help
Funding is urgently needed to enroll additional students, build our school and a community well.
We provide the students with school uniforms, school supplies, a dailyfor the building project, enrolling additional students
and to construct a community well. Children are provided 2 school uniforms including shoes, school supplies, a daily lunch
and when needed medical care. Poor access to "potablewater"/ "safe" drinking water, contributes to health
problems and infant mortality as does poor access to medical care.
